We’ve had a really hard few days. Archie is becoming more and more reluctant to exercise and is getting really distressed which is becoming increasingly difficult to deal with. It’s hard not to get frustrated and angry and even harder to remain enthusiastic and upbeat for his sake. He is making progress and his stamina is slowly building but It’s going to be a very long road to recovery for him if he isn’t prepared to put the effort in outside of physio, one hour a day is simply not enough. We knew before we embarked upon this journey that it was going to be a hard push with physio, but we had hoped Archie would be somewhat more compliant! We just have to hope that as it gets slightly easier for him that he will be less resistant.
We had a meeting with Dr Dobbs today, the orthopedic surgeon. As we suspected, Archie will need all four points operated on, both hamstrings and heel cords. He has that scheduled for next Tuesday. We don’t know as yet how long we will need to stay in hospital, it depends how he reacts to the general. We were advised, due to the amount he vomited after his last op, it might be wise to spend a night in hospital, because if he were to be sick he would expel his painkillers and would be in a significant amount of discomfort.
Lets hope the next few days are easier.

Keep going Archie. We are keeping a close eye on all your progress and willing you on with every step. Big hugs to Mummy and Daddy too. Keep strong and thinking of you all xx
